Clinical Services & Improvement Programmes

1) Paediatric-Neonatal ECMO Life Support Programme

The Paediatric-Neonatal Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO) Life Programme was implemented in 2012. The programme seeks to improve care process improvements, quality assurance rounds and staff training.

2) Collaboration with HPB

The Sports Medicine Programme in KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH), is collaborating with the Health Promotion Board, Singapore, to develop a series of videos to promote physical activity amongst young children.

3) Project Signpost

Project Signpost is a parenting programme for families of children with developmental needs. In partnership with National Council of Social Service Social Service Training Institute, Department of Child Development is holding a training course for Project facilitators. The course aims to grow number of facilitators to meet the demand the Project Signpost programme community.

4) Dermatology Service for Children & Women at KKH

The Dermatology Service at KKH provides in-patient and out-patient dermatology services for women and children. Services include dermatological surgical procedures (e.g. cryotherapy and punch and excision biopsies) and laser procedures (e.g. vascular and pigment lasers). The hospital continues to develop specialty clinics for the management of severe eczemas, genodermatoses and vascular malformations, and expand its research and education activities involving paediatric and women’s dermatology.

5) Paediatrics Palliative Care

This collaboration with community adult palliative services (HCA Hospice Care) aims to provide seamless service to our paediatric palliative patients.
